Learning to Stand Still

In the quiet room where moments gently align,
Even though I'm not running, in the flow of time,
The heavy shadows start to lose their ground,
I'm letting go of my burdens one by one, to the ticking sound.

The world out there can rush and fade away,
As peace finds a home in the words I cannot say.
The heavy storm within begins to clear and light,
My darkness subsides a little into the softest night.

No longer fighting the emptiness inside my chest,
I let the rhythm of the clock carry the rest.
In this still space where healing has begun,
My loneliness is silenced a little, one by one.
