Kandil gecesiydi, ışıklar yanarken,
Bekledim bir selam, bir sıcak kelâm,
Gökyüzü dualarla doluydu o an,
Senin sesin eksikti, Yakup, canım eemoğlu.
Bir mesaj geldi, yarın ararım dedin,
Kalbimde yerin var, diye düşündüm, sevinçle,
Ama yarın oldu, gün geçti,
Senin sesin yine gelmedi.
Ne oldu Yakup, bir selam zor mu geldi?
Kandil, gönülleri birleştirirken,
Senin uzaklığın yürekte bir iz bıraktı,
Oysa bir ses, bir kelime yeterdi dostluğa.
Gönül isterdi ki, sitem olmasın aramızda,
Ama sessizlik uzun sürdü bu defa.
Kandiller yanar, kalpler bekler,
Senin ihmalinle bir hüzün çöker.
Yarınlar gelir, geçer Yakup,
Ama hatır, dostluk baki kalır.
Bir telefon, bir selam, yeterdi gönüle,
Unutulmasın dostluk, kırılmasın dile.
Belki bir gün hatırlarsın,
Sitem değil bu, sadece bir özlem.
Günün her ışığında beklerim yine,
Sesini duymayı, bir selamını, özlemle.
It was Kandil night, when the lights were on,
I waited for a greeting, a warm word,
The sky was full of prayers at that moment,
Your voice was missing, Yakup, my dear eemoğlu.
You received a message and said you would call me tomorrow.
You have a place in my heart, I thought with joy,
But tomorrow has come, the day has passed,
Your voice didn't come again.
What happened, Jacob, was it difficult to say hello?
While the lamp unites hearts,

However, one voice, one word was enough for friendship.
I wish there would be no reproach between us,
But this time the silence lasted for a long time.
Lamps burn, hearts wait,
