Roses at Night Şiiri - İdris Esen

Roses are cheerful, colorful and bright
but they’re silent, sad and dark at night
all colours surrender without a fight
no shape or colour challenges its might

occasional howls of beasts and casual battles
annoy the sleeping rose buds and petals
the serenity of the mountainside and valley,
while, longing, sorrow, and despair rally
in so many sleepless bedrooms and lonely hearts
down by the river and way up in the bushy parts
and on far away shores the steady ocean waves
singing idly nameless old love songs
long-abandoned in secluded and scary caves

fears and woes at night are tenfold
roses are lonely, silent, sad and cold
darkness engulfs nature complete and tight
all roses wear the same colour at night.
