They say time heals everything.
What a beautiful lie.
Time doesn’t heal.
It only adds dust to the furniture.
I look at the empty chair across the room.
It isn’t just an object.
It’s a monument
to your absence.
I walk through this city like a ghost.
Neon lights bleed into the wet pavement.
Every stranger has your eyes
for a split second.
Then they blink
and become strangers again.
A cruel trick of the mind.
Or maybe
just a glitch
in the matrix of my heart.
We were not written in the stars, my love.
We were written in the sand.
And the tide was always coming.
We knew it.
But we built our castle anyway.
Isn’t that what bravery is?
Loving something
knowing
you will lose it.
Listen.
Do you hear that?
Silence.
The loudest sound in the universe.
It’s the sound of me
missing you.
Goodnight, ghost.
Haunt me again tomorrow.
Please.
